Company Announcement
ARLINGTON, VA., March 17, 2025 — Nestlé USA is voluntarily recalling a limited quantity of Lean Cuisine® and STOUFFER’S® frozen meals due to potential contamination with wood-like material. The products involved in this recall include Lean Cuisine® Butternut Squash Ravioli, Lean Cuisine® Spinach Artichoke Ravioli, Lean Cuisine® Lemon Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry, and STOUFFER’S® Party Size Chicken Lasagna, produced between August 2024 and March 2025. These items were distributed across major retailers in the U.S. from September 2024 to March 2025. Importantly, this recall is restricted to the specified products and does not affect any other Lean Cuisine® or STOUFFER’S® offerings.
Nestlé USA chose to take this precautionary measure after receiving consumer feedback about the possible presence of wood, including one reported choking incident associated with these products. Batch codes can be located on the side of the product packaging, and consumers are urged to check for ten-digit batch codes listed prior to the best before date.
For Lean Cuisine® Butternut Squash Ravioli, the contaminated batch codes include 4261595912, 4283595912, 4356595912, 5018595912, and 5038595912, with corresponding best before dates extending to March 2026. The Lean Cuisine® Spinach Artichoke Ravioli batches affected are 4311595912, 5002595912, 5037595912, and 5064595912. The batch for the Lean Cuisine® Lemon Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry is 4214595511, while the STOUFFER’S® Party Size Chicken Lasagna batches are 4262595915, 4351595915, 5051595915, and 5052595915.
Consumers who have purchased these products should refrain from preparing or consuming them and return them to the retailer for a replacement or a full refund. For further inquiries, customers can contact Nestlé USA at (800) 681-1676 from Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. EST. The company is actively investigating the source of the contaminants and maintains that this incident is regarded as an isolated occurrence, while promising cooperation with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) throughout the process.
The quality, safety, and integrity of Nestlé’s products remain a top priority, and the company expresses sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused to consumers and retail partners.
Importance of Product Recalls
Product recalls play a crucial role in ensuring public safety by enabling consumers to make informed decisions about the products they use. Recalls are issued when products are found to pose potential health risks, including contamination by foreign materials, allergens, or failure to comply with safety regulations. The FDA encourages consumers to report any adverse reactions or incidents associated with recalled products through their safety reporting systems.
