TS Food Packaging has issued a recall of their “Rural King” and “Wabash Valley Farms” Bacon Seasoning due to the undeclared presence of soy, a known allergen. The recalled bacon seasonings have been distributed nationwide through both e-commerce channels and retail stores, packaged in 4.2 oz plastic jars and 1 oz sample gift packets. The affected lot numbers include 17324s, 27824s, and 30324s for the jars, along with 16524SP, 16624SP, 23424SP, 26324SP, 26424SP, 26724SP, 20624S, and 20724S for the sample packets. No illnesses have been reported in connection with this issue to date. The recall was prompted by a manufacturing quality verification that revealed a soy ingredient substitution by a supplier, which occurred without proper notification. An investigation into the matter determined that a gap in the substitution review process was to blame, and corrective measures have been implemented to prevent future occurrences.
